Went last night (saturday), what a load of s*** this place is. I'm not a local and have never been here before, went here on recommendation. It was awful, dirty, smelly, rough, full of student chavs acting like drunk idiots and mind numbing dance 'music'. We only stayed as we'd paid to get in and didn't know where better to go! It's £5 and a few hours of my life I will NEVER get back! exotic1983 - 27 Nov 2011 18:51
A unique bar and club nowhere in the whole world is quite like this place. Set over various level and a fair amount of outside seating this place just oozes so much character. With memerbilia all over the place even gravestones outside and also plays a good variety of music (non cheesy!) Anyone that ever comes to Exeter (it is popular with students) must come here It is lengenary in the city. 10/10 montie49 - 25 Sep 2011 13:40
always has been and i guess always will be the best place in Exeter ... I owned and ran a pub in Exeter for 10 years (86 to 96) ... it was called Barts (Bartholomew Street West) ... and we were the two dogs b*****ks!!! anonymous - 1 Jun 2007 19:34
Great place, really enjoyed my brief stay. friendly staff and more than acceptable music playing in the background. agree with earlier comment re. general cleanliness/hygine situation..... there was a barage on the olfactory organs in certain corners of the bar reminiscent of decaying dog. But it didnt ruin the general good feeling you got from the place. gillyweed - 13 Sep 2005 14:10
| Good place, good drink at a good price....jsut a shame the place quite literally STINKS!!! Something of a combination of wet dog and month-old laundry basket. And it wasn't just us picking up on it! Think if that had not been present, I'd have drank more of their excellent beers and ciders. Good vibe tho, and friendly people serving the drinks.
