| A fantastic pub. I came across the Atlantic to drink a pint in my "name sake" pub and I was not disappointed. I had called the pub prior to leaving the States and spoke with Julie the owner. I told here that I was a "Birkey" and that I was intending on coming to Crosby (Liverpool) for a visit. Had a great night of conversation about pub history, looking at old pictures and hearing the stories. The staff were friendly, good beer and lager, and a super atmosphere created by music, laughter and diversity in clients. | Oh well despite my "Recent" comments the Birkey has been refurbished (Re-Opened on 5th Mrach) and still retains all its character. Least now the gents dont have to go "outside" in order to use the gents! Still 2 sides, with pool table and quiz machine on 1 (and the quality jukebox)and 2 big screen TV's on the other.
