Always a nice range of beers, and the big window benches are great for a large group to settle down and work their way across the pumps. Interesting cider over Christmas, too, including some orange stuff that destroyed my memory and made my head throb till after the Queen's Speech. Recommended. nogbad - 2 May 2007 12:11
Very nice pub with good selection of beers. They apparently do a very good Sunday lunch, but I haven't tried it. Good mix of people. Florrie - 2 Oct 2006 17:09
Nice pub. Clientelle from across the spectrum with your early 20s 'first jobbers' right up to your trilby'd pensioners. Sadly it was updated (in a bad way) many years ago but thankfully it's finally starting to roughen around the edges and begin to resemble a proper pub once again. It has a ridiculous layout but the atmosphere is warm and there is always a superb selection of ales. (25/03/06) Cornish, Deuchars, Nine Lives, Hook Norton to name but 4. There were at least another 2 guest ales also. Great place to catch up with someone you haven't seen for an age. Dylarolla - 28 Mar 2006 14:29
This has always been a great locals pub and as such perhaps restricted it potential clientele. However new landlords have changed it dramtically and managed to retain the locals but attract a large number of new patrons. The best pub in Cheltenham in my view and some fantastic beers on offer. At the time of writing Donningtons BB, Greene King IPA, 6X and Timothy Tailors. Simon Andrews - 7 Sep 2004 13:46
Nice pub - decent regulars and could only be improved by getting Brakespeares beer back! Stephen - 6 Mar 2004 15:30
