Smart, good food, good beer, good service.

A little bit chainy feel to the place. You can see from the external notice boards the type of place its trying to be and the type of punters it wants to attract.

Does things well.

A very deceptive looking pub from the outside as it appears to be long and thin but there's a large dining room at the rear that was very busy even though it was only just gone 1pm on the Sunday I visited.

8 ales on the pumps with the majority being Scottish, I had the house brew from Belhaven along with a summer ale from Caledonian, the house brew being particuly good.

Interesting interior with a lot of exposed stone walls and a mix of carpets and wooden floors. A full range of GBG's sit on a shelf between the bar and restaurant.

I decided to eat here so I plumped for the beef and Ale pie with mash and veg. Good value at just under £9.00, decent size meal though the mash was bit lumpy.

All in all a nice pub, with a good range of ales and decent food.

Good selection of beer including the finest offerings from Belhaven (It is a Belhaven Pub, afterall).
Food and Bar intergration wasn't brilliant after waiting about 20 minutes for a table, the barman then told us our table was ready, unfortunately the restaurant staff didn't "have you booked, sorry - no chance of food tonight", thankfully for us starving chaps the bar chap sorted a table out for us. 10 OUT OF 10 for the beer though.

Friendly bar with a good range of well-kept real ales - seven to choose from on my visit.

This should never be classed as a pub.Atmosphere=zero, beer average and food bland. They should make up there mind, pub or restaurant as it worked as neither for us.
