A friendly welcome from the (Scottish) manager, who was very attentive, although my lunchtime visit only required a sandwich. A good pint of Badger - in an H&W pub, you must expect to be served with their ales, whatever you think of them. Worth a re-visit, if beer and food needed.

This would be the ideal establishment for Penguins or Polar bears !!Their idea of heating is putting the lights on.We have been in some pretty dreary pubs in this area but this one is a winner-the owner seems to take great delight in criticising the staff in public-which I found embarassing-and the general staff attitude is one of contempt for anybody daft enough to try and order at the bar.Needless to say we didn`t stay-hyperthermia was not on our New Years List

Expensive beers £3.90 a pint, found the food bland and tasteless, when complained to manager he told me know one else had said anything!!! Lots of swearing coming from bar which is off puting when you have a family. Will not use again.....

This is more of a dining establishment than a pub, some of the staff were less than happy to have people stay overnight which meant them having to work late (11pm). By 21.30 the place was empty as all diners had gone even a couple of locals who popped in about 22.00 were told the pub was closed, if you plan to stay the night in the area I would advise you look elsewhere

This is what used to be called “a roadhouse” during the golden age of motoring, a biggish pub beside the main Wareham to Dorchester road. The interior is a lovely old 1930s brewers tudor rendition, with wood panelling, low ceilings, diamond leaded window partions and a nice carved front to the bar. Two main rooms with dark furniture and two bar counters. Hall and Woodhouse's Badger beers, including Tanglefoot and Lemony Cricket, not my favourite brewer but the beer was well enough kept. The ales are supported by the usual mass market lagers, stout and ciders plus HB export which I believe is a German import. Food served all day according to the signs inside and out, the staff seemed rather bored by it all.
