| Also think the place is over-rated (imo). Seemed a bit clique regarding customers and staff..certainly not so welcoming. Beer ok(ish). Also agree with other posts about ridiculous pickey opening times - 1pm or something silly on a Saturday! Prefered the Hook Norton pub further into town tbh..but will give the Bell a try again. | Always worth a visit when in Banbury (handy for the train station). Good beer two bars and a great pleasant atmosphere with freindly licensees and staff. We used this when on a canal holiday and have been back again since then sometimes just making the train home. Well worth a visit. mcroyal - 1 Sep 2011 22:37 |
| Lovely pub Good atmosphere and music, friendly locals, luxurious smoking facilities. Sadly only Strongbow cider. Worth a visit. EricOlthwaite - 7 May 2011 19:04 |
| Loves the fact that people feel the need to bad mouth arguably the most best and most consistantly good pub in banbury!!! The landlord takes fantastic care of his beer and continues to keep at least one guest beer on at all times. Regular been is Hobsons which is always in top notch condition. Is one of the only proper Pubs in the local area with not just young or old visiting locals are all good characters and never seem to have any trouble. Near the train and bus station a must go to for anyone. Does have at least one beer festival a year which are always successfull, keep your ears to the ground if you are lcky enough to be in the pub when this is on you are in for a really good time. younstar - 31 Mar 2011 13:18 |
| By far the best pub in Banbury for anyone who likes a real ale. Atmosphere is more like that of a village pub, which is no easy task in a town like Banbury! Landlord and landlady both bubbly and enjoy talking to customers. The bar area is a bit more for a younger crowd, but sitting at a table in the lounge is bliss for anyone who hates the usual theme pubs and lager bars. wordofgod - 18 Mar 2010 17:44 |
