This is one of my regular pubs and its a great proper locals boozer, probably the only decent pub in caterham, No food at the moment which is a bit of a shame, and gets really really busy on a Friday night. Well worth a pint or two.. nicnocs1 - 24 Jul 2008 10:35
I've used this pub on and off for over 20 years. It always was the best pub in Caterham and still is. The Fullers beers are always in excellent nick and the staff and locals are friendly. It is your archetypal village boozer and if you can grab a table by one of the open fires in the Winter, even better. Old_Caterhamian - 21 Jan 2008 16:24
No idea why I've managed to avoid the King and Queen for all these years: maybe the reputation of some of the other pubs round here hasn't helped, but finally found my way here this lunchtime while seeking refuge from the still dreadful Tudor Rose in Coulsdon. Anyway my eyes have been opened, it really is spot on, nothing else to add to the perfectly accurate comments below. nickdavies - 1 Dec 2007 16:55
Although the public bar at the front is a bit narrow the people found around it are really nice folks. If you don't like being that sociable there is plenty of seating in the back rooms. The beer (London Pride and the rest of the Fullers catalogue) is usually well kept and on those rare occasions of poor quality there is no hesitation in correcting the problem. Friendly bar staff and managers just put the icing on the cake and make drinking there a real pleasure. ratskeller - 29 Aug 2007 15:16
All previous comments regarding the friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere are spot on. The pub is used by a real cross-section of punters, and is none the worse for that. The London Pride was in good condition, and even though the four separate bar areas are quite small, there was loads of space to spread out. Historically interesting, good beer, friendly staff and customers, a perfect local for those who appreciate such things. CountryBoy - 15 Jul 2007 10:07
