Used to visit this pub years ago when I lived in Rugby. I have had chance to visit again over the past couple of months. Either it's got a lot smaller or I've got a lot fatter.
Either way, it remains a high quality venue, despite competition from a few newcomers in recent years.
I echo the comments of a previous reviewer regarding the genuine friendliness of the landlady. The beer range is suitably varied but maintains a consistent local presence, particularly Dow Bridge.
I look forward to my next trip to Rugby in the new year. Even the drab walk up the hill from the station will be worthwhile.

Small pub, curiously shaped like one of those cut-off wedges of cheese sold in supermarkets. The landlord offered a pleasant welcome, and later on the landlady offered the sort of farewell that sounded like she actually meant it rather than just reciting the company script. Anyway, three real ales on - two from Jennings (which must have got out just before the brewery was flooded) and a tasty pint of Legend from the local Dowbridge Brewery (apparently located somewhere just across the border in Leicestershire).

We went on a Sunday night a few weeks ago, a brilliant lady blues singer was entertaining, the place seemed very friendly. the building itself is very quirky, two real ales on, a local one just ran out so I had Wychwood Bountiful. A quick visit but worth it

Would like to balance my previous review due to two fairly recent encounters in the pub which were less positive
