Feels like most Spoons, you get what you expect. As quiet as a library!

The beer is generally not kept terribly well. The food is about average for a Spoons.

This pub also attracts most of the weirdos and dysfunctional types from a wide area around it. Some of them work behind the bar.

The truth is, Fratton isn't a particularly great place for a beer however you look at it apart from the Connaught or the Florist. The Froddington over the road isn't renowned for its ale these days but it is at least a proper pub and not a converted furniture shop.

this pub is great for all you mutant spotters. get there early in the afternoon(late morning really) and you will see an excellant collection of creatures supping happily on cheap pints of grog. eye contact is possible as half of the clientelle can just about speak let alone walk properly. i recommend this pub purely for a quick jar and a laff.

This is a pleasant open plan wetherspoons... with a real feel of being a regulars pub. The staff are friendly and good tempered. The beer selection is good and the beer tastes good.

It is open Sunday - Thurs from 9am til Midnight and on Fridays and Saturdays from 9am to 1am. There are 2 Plasma screen tv's which show most sporting events and will usually put events on at a customers request.

Matchdays in this pub mean it gets busy as it is close to Fratton Park. You get all the home team supporters coming in for breakfasts and pints before the game.. the atmosphere is good but you may wait a little while for a pint.

Otherwise a great pub and really good friendly staff.

Another large open plan Wetherspoons pub. However this pubs has 12 Real Ale pumps (with around 6-8 different Ales on tap) and charges around £1.69 a pint! This pub is now open until Midnight Monday - Thursday and 1AM on Fridays and Saturdays. Serves very reasonably priced food as well. The only bad points are that this pub has no sole (one huge room) and the bar area can get quite busy during peak times.
