I take it the rating for this pub has been carried over from the previous landlady's time, now dire, worth about 2/10

Myself and my girlfriend went here last night. We were taunted by the people in the pub and made to feel very unwelcome. The staff were friendly and told us where to go and find some food but we left rather sharpish.

change of hands, and not for the better

nice place. the locals/regulars are friendly and so are the bar staff.

a very friendly dog lives there too, who roams the pub, which is nice.

they serve cornish pastie with chips which os only a good thing.

beer wise, they had the usual lagers, but they also have a 7.8% cider for £2.80, should u be in the mood to get legless.

good pub atmosphere.

also its a great location to take the quicker back route to fratton park (pompeys ground).

Excellent pub: warm, friendly atmosphere and a well kept, unusual selection of small brewery beers. I came here as an away supporter for a match at Fratton Park, having been told it was 'good for away fans'. Not a single one - all Pompey supporters! It is in a back street, mind, and parking is nigh-on impossible; the only place seems to be the pay and display in Nancy Road (if there's a space). But it's worth it once you get there. The kind of place you'd happily while away an afternoon session if you had the time.
