Awful place, truly horrible. A few years ago it was one to include on your saturday morning vity centre pub crawl, but now it's just so.... soulless.

Owned by Marstons now this is ideal if waiting 4 a train @ bns,3 pumps but no ale sadly when visited, food is dirt cheap though if u want a quick snack!!

Spent ages waiting for service (despite complete lack of custom). Average beer (though had to ask for a 'top up').

Only worth visiting if you've missed your train (and you'd rather be in the warm than on the platform). Avoid on a drinking sesh.

Firstly is this place not just called The Newt?
Everytime i go here i cant see a reference to Cucumber...This is the pub under the ramp isnt it??

For my review, i like the beer and great screens for watching sport.

Good service upon my visits but mainly due to large bar and empty seats.

6/10

I used to be the assistant Manager here. This place used to be one of the coolest places in Birmingham. Now I find it soul destroying. The atmosphere is non existent and the service is woeful. Thank god I moved to London.

Best service in Birmingham? You must be joking! Staff ONLY serve the customer standing directly in front of them whether or not others have been waiting for 10 minutes or more. There is also a very funy little man who has set up home in the gents' toilets who tries to wash your hands for you and welcomes you in with the words:"Welcome to my palace". I and many others I have spoken to find his presence very uncomfortable. Having said that the beer is excellent and the food pretty reasonable.

A quality operation I found when visiting. Heard this one is due a big refurbishment in a couple of weeks, new manager too. Best place for watching Sky Sports, really good atmosphere. Food is really good, staff friendly and helpful. Seems to have all types of customers, makes for a ideal meetiing place after work too. Well worth a visit, I found the music is not too loud and ideal for the time of day

Why watch documentaries about binge drinking and violent crime when you can drink here and get the real thing? The beer's cheap too!

Nice Pub, Usual "Chain Pub" atmosphere, music was too load for time of day. Needs a decent Manager
