Friendly pub, real ales on good form. Food looks and smells good and is cheap.

Recent addition to the local real ale scene, which has been subject of several recent plaudits. I visited today and tried the Everards Golden Zest, which was nothing short of excellent. The pub itself is traditional in style, and there was a nice friendly welcome on my first visit. Well impressed, and will visit again soon.

Visited on Saturday 10th April. Had a fantastic meal in the restaurant upstairs and then went downstairs where they had a live band playing music from 60's, 70's thru to current time. Absolutely had a great night and sampled the real ale before purchasing. Nice crowd of local people in! Will be back soon!

definately, I say, ashley, definatley NOT for vegitarian wierdos!
Food is very good here at this time
can't really say, can I ashley, 'bout the past or future
but both the food and the real ale are most top quality.
not your usual real beer outlet, probably more local than ale freaks, but at least the locals are genuine friendly and welcome...not your plastic patronising downbeat lowlife commy labour union member trouble causing lazy good for nothing miserable polly correct irratating anti social be-grudging sad sort you can find in some camra places but real people who work hard...and that includes farmers...oh I say Ashley...........

however there is much room here for improvement, perhaps aim for a livelier atmosphere? not folk or C&W music please and not disco stuff, but just somethin' more lively!

Was told the roe cross pub had reopened, called in and was very impressed with the cask ales. possably the best pub in the area serving cask at the moment. This pub is also CASK MARQUE accredited. Nice to see a pub in mottram that doesn`t serve Robbies ale. Will call in again.

This pub is possably the best pub in mottram for several reasons. Having walked up from the village we were greeted by a selection of five cask ales and having sampled three of them they were on fantastic form. Good points: No football, No juke box, No pool table just a traditional local pub serving real ale. If you want the husstle and bussle of young tearaways then visit stalybridge because you wont find it here. Although the pub was not busy which was unusual for a saturday night it had a fantastic and friendly atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming and even my wife likes the place Definatly try this pub if you want something different in mottram.

we called into the roe cross pub after seeing a sign advertising cask ale. What can i say. 5 cask ales all priced at 1.99 a pint absolutly fantastic.
As an avid CAMRA member i can honestly say this pub serves one of the best pints of real ale in the area at the moment. Having been to many establishments and writing numerous reviews on real ale the roe cross is up at the top. What i was impressed with is because of the choice of 5 ales i was asked if i would like to sample each one before i purchased. Excellent work roe cross. See you at the bar !!!
