please note - reviews on this site are purely the opinion of site visitors, so don't take them too seriously.

As previously mentioned is now called ALBERTS CORNER

Went in here again today and was much more favourably impressed ! Almost all the old seating has been removed and replaced (mainly) by individual chairs / tables in a more upmarket style. Overall number of seats probably less – more comfortable.

There were 4 real ales on tap again, but more interesting this time. There were two “bitter” type beers from Woodands and 2 dark beers fro mTitanic. Not a golden ale in sight – hooray ! After agonising for ages, I eventually decided on the Titanic Stout and it was very nice indeed.

The food range is expanded as well, with separate menu cards for light bites, mains, desserts and afternoon teas (!). The prices aren’t cheap (£5-8) for light bites, though some of these like “pan-sauteed sea bass” sounded anything but light. I’m still suffering from lack of tooth (see Old Poets Corner, Ashover !) so I didn’t eat, but will definitely do so on my next visit and report back.

Also in the running for Best Barmaids in Town – if you ignore the blue hair !

Oh yes, it does 10% CAMRA discount as well – and beer prices were lower than I remembered as well (£3 a pint before discount).

7/10 – could well become one of my favourite haunts.

This pub is part of the Smith and Jones chain. Not really my scene. I would say it is aimed at the "spending the welfare cheque" crowd of hoodies and ladettes, but my mother likes it and she's aged 75 !! Has several large screen TVs and can get rather rowdy when bid matches are on. For real ale fans, there is one beer Wells Bombardier - but it is sometimes off. Food is good with reasonable prices, but service can be slow.

I have had my dinner in here a couple of times and i must admit it was good. Bit slow and yes not the same kind of atmosphere as a traditional pub, but convenient and not bad price.

Crap in just about every way - expensive, no atmosphere, arrogant/rude staff, rubbish beer, etc.

One (very brief) visit was more than enough for me.

average decor, decent enough amount of screens, including one in the beer garden, shame about the staff and management. top tip - dont ever work there!

Great conversion of old job centre. Good food. New menu apparently - loads of choice and well priced. Best pub I could find in Crewe town centre by miles. Previous reviews seem a bit harsh but agree staff could smile more.

I will certainly not be eating in the waldron again!! After being bought the wrong food I was shouted at by the waitress, manager wouldnt come and see me, utterly poor customer service! A shame that a nice pub in a good location is so let down by the manager, service and poor food!

I have been drinking and eating in the Waldron more or less from when it opened in 2005. I have never had a bad meal or any problems with the staff in general.

Any pub has the occassional occurance of alcohol induced trouble however I have never seen these handled badly and the staff have always been friendly.

I went into the waldron for a meal the other day and the first thing I noticed was the dacour. Its nice and relaxing. We went in saw the decoration and thought this would be the place for us. We were wrong. The staff were just standing around talking and the chef was outside in his whites talking to. We ordered the food and sat down. We got our drinks which two were tea, it looked like dishwater and tasted like nats wee. We got the food which took 45 minutes to arrive for four mains. The gammon was undercooked, we ordered rare steak and got welldone, the cajun chicken looked like it had been left out for a fortnight and the lasagne looked like a plate of sick. The only redeeming feature about this pub was the dacour and the two pints of carling.

On a scale of 1-10 for excellence I'd be hard pressed to get past 4. The decor was very tasteful and it was lovely to have proper height tables in little booths to ensure comfort and convenience, but the food and service let them down. One of the party wanted soup only to find they'd run out (by 6.30pm) and his second option also proved unavailable leaving him with a third choice before he could eat anything. I had gammon and found it only just cooked, whilst the onion rings were limp and the other main meal, a lasagna, was burnt in places. The drink of tea was more like dish water and the latte was hot milk with colouring. What a shame that a new pub lets itself down so much within a few weeks.

New pub just opened in Crewe. Part of the Smith and Jones chain. Went in on Sunday night, sorry to say that I was not very impressed. Too many kids! Should it improve I will let the site know.
