I was there for a Christmas lunch and this was carried off with a degree of aplomb even if the starter (salmon) was something of an amuse-bouche. A drinkable enough ale from London brewery Sambrook was on tap. service was no nonsense.

two ales on - Hook Norton Hooky and Taylors Golden Best. The Hooky was drinkable. It's okay for what it is but nothing special.

It's been a number of years since I was last in here. But I popped in for a quick half on Thursday evening this week. Some of my fellow work colleagues were here and they were part of seemingly three or four Christmas parties going on. 2 ales were on. Sadly I was too inebriated to remember what they were. Although I believe one was London Pride. The cider was Aspalls and was 3.90 per pint which I considered fairly reasonable for this area. Although others were complaining about the high prices. The atmosphere was very noisy and it was impossible to engage in a sensible conversation. Getting served was extremely challenging, but not because of the lack of bar staff, rather because of the crowds of people hogging the bar area. Prices are expensive and apparently they stopped serving at 11pm sharp, when the place was still packed out. Luckily I'd left shortly before then. But I suspect by closing dead on 11pm, they are losing out in the financial stakes, especially at this time of year when office parties are the norm. A reasonable enough pub. But there is nothing outstanding about it.

Great pub for a post-work drink and stick around for the food. Very friendly staff who pay their customers attention.

Went there on Wednesday to meet a few friends and watch the football. Arrived early at 17:30 and got an excellent table with a good view of the big screen. Bar staff very friendly and also several gorgeous barmaids. Decent selection of beers and lagers, Bombardier was very nice. Also a good wine list with a wide range of prices. Ordered the Eggs Benedict as recommended by lots of other punters. Well recommended, it was excellent. Service was friendly and fast and we had a great evening. Excellent atmosphere for the football and I would definitely come back again.

the place has been refurbished and looks great. A little more sophisticated and a little more attention to detail than your average grimey boozer. this is my local pub and by far the most comfortable hangout in the area - the eggs benedict are as good as any in London - I'm a happy punter

Has his place just been refurbed??? soulless and horrible , bought a beer because we wanted the toilet , fastest downed pints of the day. def not to return

Visited this pub a few times, what we liked was we always managed to get a seat. The cloth covered seat however did need cleaning. It`s a big airy pub with a fair selection of beer. The staff are friendly but I wish they would make more effort to strike a conversation. Not everyone want to sit in silence or watch the TV. The toilets were clean, always a plus.

Have been here twice for Lunch and each time did not have very good meals. very expensive and bar staff not willing to change to the TV from sky sport news to rugby.

best eggs benedeict i've had in years. note the comment about the new manager, but actually think he's rather nice!

Nice pub. Attractive barmaids. Can't complain

New Manager is a bit of a ponce but this still remains a decent boozer.

A reasonable pub but the screen is too big unless you are specific there to watch dull sport.

Alright pub. Lots of thieves around though.

A good afternoon pub, best avoided in the evening, nice enough food and big screen tv. Closed on Saturday for some reason.

Been here on two separate occations, both in the afternoon...First time I found it quite relaxing and nice, however second time around I found the bar staff to be very arrogant and annoying (the barman obviously thought it was more important to fill the glasswasher and talk to his friend than serving me), there were more costumers this time but found them all to be very pretentious...Im not gonna go back there!

Only had good experiences at this pub. Can almost always get a seat, its quite open and light with a very relaxed atmosphere. Staff have always been flexible (changing meals/drinks orders, open windows etc) and give a bit of chat. Food is very good with large portions and its a good place to watch sport. Judging by the other comments I may have been lucky when I've been in but I've genuinely been 100% satisfied whenever I've been.

Not a friendly place at all. I went in with my girlfriend before at 5 to 11 and they were busy not serving2 lads at the bar saying the bar was shut. Ridiculous.Had a nice relaxing pint over across the road in the Windsor with no problem. When watching an international football game the barman switched over to another game to the anger of the majority of the pub and was less than friendly in his explanation for doing this. Seems to be hit and miss if the place is open or not. It's a pity because with a bit of respect for it's customers it could be the best pub in the area

Full of bitching office types. A place to go for one drink after work and promptly depart.

I had a good meal and good cider here for lunch, most of the other pubs in the areas weren't even open at 12:30 yet.
I did miss sides, but the price wasn't bad.
I would go back and see what its like during the evenings.

This could be a real nice pub but its hardly ever open so whats the point.

Probably the best pub to watch football in london due to a large screen and its never too busy. Excellent food, one of the few places that manage to sell drinkable strongbow. Good choice of music always on, and great staff. Best pub by far in the area

reckon it lacks atmosphere

This was a very unexpected find. Just passing by, feeling hot and bothered, popped in for a pint, ended up chatting to the barman for ages, very friendly. Decided to stay till the evening so I could sample a homemade burger, which was delicious. Will make a point of going back soon.
