The Volunteer Arms, Dunbar

The Volunteer Arms is our favourite pub in Dunbar. Friendly staff, two guest ales (constantly changing) on tap, TV only on for certain sports fixtures (I am not a sports fan, so couldn't say what the pattern is), but not dominating the pub. Since the smoking ban the owners glazed the patio area in front of the pub with two big parasols/umbrellas that span the whole area if opened.
We often go there for a (delicious) meal upstairs in the restaurant or bar lunch, either inside or outside if the sun is shining, we try not to miss the fortnightly open mic sessions, run by Wesley Bradd, on a Thursday night which attract some very good musicians and make for a brilliant night out!
