This has since closed and reopened under a new name that escapes me. Something like sofa or room?? Looks less than enticing anyway.

The Brew House, Altrincham

Now known as the Brewhouse (same ownership) as it has expanded it's range beyond just Belgian beers to encompass a great selection of beers from around the globe. Well worth a visit.

The Griffin, Bowdon

went in on christmas eve. trade was brisk. i did not mind waiting at the bar as it was evidently very busy but the staff were at times clearly serving friends first.

of the five hand pumps, the only one available was london pride which was dull/uninspiring.

the pub ran out of tonic water, vodka and also pint glasses. although conspiracy theorists may think the last one may have been less than accidental as the plastic pots that replaced them were small and the servings in them fell well short of a pint.

will revise my previous 7 rating to a 5.
