The Hobgoblin, Loughborough

I had the same thing happen to me- what's the point of a Hobgoblin pub if there's no Hobgoblin to drink?! Apparently, this is quite common.

The focus seems to be on sport in this pub, not real ale!

It's not too bad. I agree that the bar does get filled with posers very quickly. Cocktails are nice, but all is overpriced.

As for the food, this is the place to go if you have any food allergy at all. One of my friends has a nut allergy and nowhere else seems to be able to cater for him.

Our waiter in this restaurant went to great lengths to check the ingredients and ensure that there were no unfortunate incidents! Which is more than can be said for several other places along the riverside!

I agree with whats already been said: the pies are good, the bar prices are not so good. But having said that, they aren't that much more overpriced than some of the other bars at some other restaurants in Reading.

Certainly, when my family went in, we left thinking that we'd spent a very cheap evening having a great meal, that was reasonably good value.

Definitely worth a visit.
