The Roundhouse, Battersea

I adore this place - the food is fantastic (decent gastro food though, so decent gastro prices) and they have fab selection of beer. Wine list that will impress your mum when she comes to stay in 'filthy london' too. Have to strongly disagree with the comment from "rlm' posted in December. Its not miles away from public transport.

6 mintues up the road (which is visible from the pub) you can get onto Clapham Junction overland trains or buses that will take you to Clapham Common and further. Its really easy, and like most decent pubs in London, requires a little effort to get there! Perhaps RLM should enjoy the pubs in the north and leave this glorious place for us poor poor southerners.
