The Swan, Bayswater

This one ticked all the boxes on first equaintence; great looking pub with a superb frontage, balcony and trading area. Cracking views accross the park and a good mix of pub going folk all I would happily share a table with. As ever the devils in the detail and really the delivery of the service was quite rubbish. The menus crap.
9 options in pub such as this is poor and two of them were just variations on a theme. The food didnt arrive at the same time and the plates were cold, cutlery was not offered for some and no sauces were provided. The sausage and mash was ok and the onion gravy a cheap granuled catering job, positivley full of flavour compared to the peas that were near grey in color. I feel this pub trades well due to the location and the Fullers reputation.

The Hay Waggon Inn, Hartfield

nice warm welcome on a busy sunday, top roast dinner and a great pint of westerham's grasshopper. attractive gardens and a lovely pub front give an ideal country pub experience. its a free house in rural sussex, so maybe more local products on the bar would be welcome, who needs to see bass and budweiser on tap when theres so much locally produced microbrews available?

The Plough Inn, Rottingdean

Pleasant welcome and a fine pint of Harveys Olympic, served on a busy saturday afternoon, bar chap brought the latte outside to the table. Other pubs are pretty dire in this area, will check the food next time.
