The Mill House Inn, Trebarwith

IF I WERE GEORGE ORWELL THIS WOULD BE MY 'MOON UNDER THE WATER'. VISITED ON THE 1ST APRIL AT THE TAIL END OF A TOURING TRIP TO CORNWALL. WARM WELCOME AND A LANDLORDS RECOMMENDATION FOR THE TINTAGEL CORNISH PRIDE. LOVELY PINT. UNFORTUNATELY COULD ONLY HAVE TWO AS I WAS DRIVING. ENJOYED A SUPER MEAL WITH MY WIFE. FRIENDLY SERVICE, GREAT QUALITY AND VALUE. PUT MANY OF THE HOSTELRIES WE HAVE VISITED TO SHAME. I'VE LIVED IN PUBS ALL MY LIFE AND BEEN A FREE TRADE LICENSEE FOR THIRTY YEARS AND IT'S NOT ALL THAT OFTEN THAT I STRONGLY ADVISE FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO VISIT A PLACE BUT I HAVE NO RESERVATIONS IN THE CASE OF THE MILL HOUSE. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. YOU'RE A CREDIT TO THE COUNTY.

The Jolly Farmer, Bramley

Hello FredCarno,
I'd like to say nice to have met you. But I can't because I haven't met you. Which is strange as I was on duty at the Jolly Farmer from 11am today to 3pm. Perhaps you waited ages and ages while I was in the toilet or sorting the beers out down the cellar. Maybe I'll ask my mate Mike who I do the times crossword with every morning at opening time. Not a bad result today - took us less that twenty five minutes to complete . With no interuptions. Perhaps you'd like to drop your cloak of invisibility and pop along have have a chat about our standards of service. Mike and I are there first thing most mornings. The other thirteen diners and three drinkers who popped in over the course of our four hour long quiet lunchtime seemed most satisfied.
Kind Regards,

The West Hill, Brighton

Visited the West Hill on two recent sunday afternoon/evenings. The beer was excellent on both occasions (Tribute & Sussex Best). The pub was suggested by my daughter, a vegan, because it offers a carvery with a regular vegan option all day on sundays. The food was as good as the beer. Reasonably priced, good quality and served piping hot with a smile by the friendly staff. Different staff on both our visits. One young guy from Sussex uni and a young lady with dreads and tats. Both attentive, cheerful and assets to this pub. I was born into the business & have run a busy ale & food house for forty years. I would recommend the West Hill to any of my friends and have done so!
