Glens Bar, New Cumnock

Standard Ayrshire village pub. A bit rough and ready, but worth a visit if you're in New Cumnock (not that you're exactly spoiled for choice there). The locals would appear to have a very poor geographical knowledge (especially Tam Wilson). They believe that Iceland now shares a border with Norway and Finland!

The Flask, Hampstead

I'm not really a fan of Young's pubs, but if you can ignore the relatively poor selection of beer The Flask really is a nice, cosy little local with a typically mixed Hampstead clientelle. The staff have always been friendly whenever I've been, and the reasonably priced food (well reasonably priced for Hampstead!) is of a consistently high standard. Highly recommended!
