The White Horse, Downton

I love this pub. Unfortunately I live just too far for it to be my local, but if I lived in Downton it would be. Good live music in the summer ("Dog House Boys" country plus others). Don't feed the dog! Hmm...might pop in later on! 8/10

The Old Inn, Woodfalls

Through the years I've seen this place go up and down like a rollercoaster. The current owners are making a good go of it in the face of a historically downtrodden rep. The themed buffet nights are excellent and at 8.95pp just right for a meal out without trekking too far. There is a fair selection of well kept beers and ales. The pub is in a position to do well given the competition in the area and I think word is slowly getting round. No hard sell. Worth checking out if you haven't been for a while...

The GlassHouse, New Malden

...further to my previous comment I must say that the situation has been monitored closely and I can safely say that it is the nicest pub in New malden - food looks great (although I haven't eaten here yet), well kept beer, good atmosphere - pretty much an antithesis of the railway it used to be. Live Jazz trio last night and cheerful, friendly bar staff with pleasant dispositions and nice views. Only the bar prices stop me giving it a 10 although to be fair it's not a place you'd go to to get hammered unless you wanted a 3 figure bar bill. Should do well!! 9/10
