The Alexandra, Wimbledon

Been here on and off for a few year but only ate in there today for Sunday lunch. Sadly it was abismal, the "giant yorkshire puding" was abot 1 1/2" and looked like Aunt Bessies best, the belly of pork was n't cooked for long enough and so was tough, all-in-all really not very good, for 11.50 it's not stupid money but I really would expect much better as normal meals are ~8. Ok for drinks but won't bother with food again.

The Pig and Whistle, Earlsfield

Been here many times in the last few months after moving to the area. Good beer, freindly staff and big food.

The Hand In Hand, Wimbledon Common

Not a bad pub, bar staff friendly enough although seemed slight disinterested when we first arrived (odd as we were the only people at the bar). That said a friendly hello and ackonowleged goodbye. Beer good, did n't eat but food looked good and people I spoke to enjoyed it.

The Crooked Billet, Wimbledon Common

A very nice pub, warm, welcoming and a good selection of beer. Only slightly strange thing was the bair maid actually asking if I'd like to tip her, which, given I was standing at the bar seemed a bit odd and the sarcasm when I declined less than welcome. Otherwise a good pub. Very dog freindly.

The Chandos, Trafalgar Square

A great SS pub along with the Lyceum (another SS pub) which is just down the road. Good selection of sofa's upstairs and decent cheap beer. 2.06 for Alpine so save yourself 1.94 from the average price of a pint.

Marquis of Cornwallis, Bloomsbury

I'm struggling to find any thing good to say - every time I've been (weekly for the last few months) the service has got worse and worse. There is a good selection of beers but you always have to ask for them to be topped up, even on glasses that allow more than an inch above the mark for a head. Then there's the food. It looks good on the menu but is truly awful, incipid goo.

So if you like awful service, half measures and bad food - this pub is for you.

Charles Holden, Colliers Wood

Not a bad pub. Relaxed, good atmosphere. Bit pricey though - especuially for the area.
