The Woodman Inn, Durham

Brilliant pub!! Loads of great ale, nice dartboart, decent and cheap pool, good varied jukebox, some basic food that complements a pint, nice friendly staff, good quiz and the occasional event such as the awesome German beer festival. If you're in Durham, go to this pub.

Bulls Head Hotel, Congleton

Excellent food at a reasonable price. Pleasant but not over-bearing staff. Good range including interesting guest ales in a pleasant setting for a pub lunch and a pint!

The Bell Inn, Bottisham

Nice few ales on (although yet another Greene King-orientated one!), good and cosy atmosphere and an ace dartboard! Also, I didn't feel estranged by the fact that I'm northern and had a strongly-contrasting accent!

The Gillygate, York

This is a really homely pub with a good range of ale (excellent Guinness), nice staff, good games room and generally a nice experience! If you're in York, make sure you pay it a visit. I always go back when I'm there!

The Kildonan Hotel, Kildonan

Probably the cosiest and most atmospheric pub on Arran. The locals are lunatics but will make you feel welcome (except for random giants who listen to Tom Waits) and the staff are a great bunch (I've worked with them before). And if you like Guinness, you'll get on fine!

The Woodman Inn, Durham

A great pub in general. Lots of real ales on tap changed weekly. Lovely pickled eggs! Plenty of beermats for the avid collector (or tegestologist as they prefer to be known). All in all, a pleasant place for a pleasant pint.

Market Tavern, Durham

It's great for regular guest ales, especially the McEwans 80'. Food's great quality aswell, and the atmosphere is a warm and friendly one. One of Durhams best pubs in my book.
