Splendid!
We sat in the patio garden and enjoyed a delicious meal! Loved the steaming tureens of veg, and the food was both plentiful and well presented. A very well thought out menu, using lots of local produce, exactly what one would hope for in a country pub.
Unsurprisingly, it was busy, both with locals and cyclists, as well as the local lord! And all very friendly to this non-local. Lots of events on offer, but I sadly live too far away to indulge.
As a red wine drinker, I was delighted to see the choice on offer, not your usual run-of--the-mill pub offerings at all, and yet still very reasonably priced.
A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, and we hope to be back son!

Walked up the River Lea and had dinner there last night. Not cheap, but a varied and interesting menu, lovely location, and friendly staff. I opted for the fish mixed grill, and was impressed.
No problem at all speaking to the landlady to organise a small social gathering in 2 weeks' time - very helpful.
It was very busy outside, and just a couple of peeps inside, due to it being very sunny. Most people were eating, and everything I saw come out looked good!

Got given 2 free drinks vouchers outside, so it'd be rude not to!
Having organised a bad night out there in March, where they blasted music at us and refused to turn it down, or give us the number of seats we'd actually booked, I wasn't surprised to find it pretty empty on a Friday evening. However, staff seem a lot more polite now, and the music has thankfully been turned down.

A fab breakfast for under 3, you can't complain about that! But the pub is pretty run down and in need of a complete overhaul. It's sticky and smelly. However, the staff are friendly and attentive.
