The Old Cock, Stretford

Lock in's and scum abound in this vile hole of retards.

Massive improvement.... but they no longer do a 'Lamb Henry'.... gutted. That was a delight after a long walk.

The cig smoke has gone but in hindsight i may have been too critical... at least it masked the smell of certain customers who still clutter around the bar like the unfriendly, unhealthy looking dregs they are.

The Temple, Manchester

Over-rated. European feel? Dont make me laugh. A place like this (with over-priced bottles and a frequently flooded toilet) wouldn't last five minutes in Germany, Holland or Belgium.

Paddy's Goose, Manchester

Went with a gay mate (i'm straight). Several hoodie type chavs in the pub. I was asked to do 'someting' by a drinker. I come to the conclusion its a pub full of rent boys.

The George and Dragon, Great Budworth

Had a nice red and the missus a nice white. Reasonable price, friendly staff. What lets the place down is the little things. The large un-tended flower beds out front, the cheap plastic furniture around the side, the toilets need attention (get rid of the dodgy novelty condom machine). The pub sign is lovely and my visit gave me much pleasure.... just watching the medieval church and some lovely swallows and butterflies.... just need to attend to a few things and this will be a gem.

NRG is insane. Full of Partington scum coz they aint got any pubs in their ghetto anymore. Over 25 year old scum bags in Burton trousers and Base shoes. Classy.... its like a disco in Basra!

Gonna stick my neck out.......

avoid this pub. Went here today (26th June) and the pub had 7 people in it. However, all these people were smoking and sat on stools at the bar!!!! They had the entire pub to choose from.... but they stayed at the bar and would'nt move for customers.

My dad's from Eccles and cant be bothered with such people so he told them to 'shift their arses' or he'd shift them. I calmed the situation down and we walked out. For the record he would have battered all 7 of the decrepid bumpkins. Went to the Rope and Anchor. Paid 20p more for cask ale but it was airy, smoke free, friendly and not full of really unhealthy looking bumpkins.

Written to Sam Smiths in Tadcaster demanding action.

The Old Cock, Stretford

Grand old building and lovely interior. However, never open for more than a month at a time. No customers..... will no doubt be boarded up and set on fire one day. Property developers will try and buy it.

Bay Malton, Dunham Massey

Stop here on the way back to the bus stop after my weekly amble around Dunham. Nice Welsh landlord. Good Lancaster Bomber (Thwaites) and nice to see Warsteiner on tap.

Nice fire in the front room. Unpretentious locals.

Jolly Thresher, Broomedge

Went with the missus and had some lovely food and wine. Nice to see a place where you can choose from more than one house wine... by the glass. Staff were really polite and the place is clean, airy and, well stocked with Hydes bitter(s).

Its not so much a pub but it doesn't need to be as there are many 'real' ale houses in the are. Real ale people may slate it as it leans towards 'gasrto' pub. However, i'm sick of drinking in dank places with rude locals in smoke filled rooms..... so the Jolly Thresher is a welcome change.

The Robin Hood, Stretford

Pub full of scallies and size 14 plus gold wearing slappers. Lived in Stretford all my life and have seen too many fights in this hole. Bouncers on the door but they're scared of the local 'mafia' scum bag families. Only reason to go would be to buy cheap E's or get your head kicked in.

Agree totally with the comment below. CAMRA are certainly talking crap here. VERY VERY unfriendly. VERY VERY bad pint of black sheep on several occassions. Could be a great pub.

The Barn Owl Inn, Lymm

I've been to a bikers pub but never a narrow boaters pub before.

Nice pint of Adnams. Arrived at 12noon on a sunday and couldn't get a table for food until 6pm. Far to many old people (by old i mean those who look like they fought at Agincourt) sitting in the same seat every chuffin week. Why are so many pubs dominated by this clique of rude OAP's. This pub looks like and is a day care centre for the twilight brigade.

I like the beer garden in this pub and spend many sundays with The Times and a pint. However, what really lets this place down is the legion of chain smoking unfriendly 'locals' who sit at the bar, drinking very slowly, never without some cheap fag in their mouth. Its a small bar and its silly to let 5 locals sit at it preventing other people from being served. og the 12ft of bar at least 6ft is taken by territorial, rude, spend thrift, no hopers. I cant wait to see what happens when the smoking ban comes in. The landlord has to take some responsibilty. Why does he allow then to dominate this pub? He must make a tidy sum out of non-locals.

The Swan With Two Nicks, Little Bollington

Went last night (Monday) and had an excellant Steak and Ale pie with real chunky kick ass home made chips. Nice selection of wine. 4 different reds by the glass. Ideal for midweek visit but i'd avoid it on a Sunday as its a favourite destination for day-trippers.
