Kings Head, Mayfair

Gone downhill massively. All ales off today. Lagers completely flat. Too hot apparently..........

Ye Grapes, Mayfair

Beer is absolute rubbish. Dreadful pint of Boddy's. lagers awful. Avoid unless you want an upset stomach.

The Haven, Ealing

Sunday lunchtime.

Watched people wander back up to the bar and complain about the food. Frozen Yorkshire puds and uncooked potatoes. Hardly inspring...

Bar staff taking the flack and the manager not really around.

Avoid

Kings Head, Mayfair

Shelleys is no more. It closed down for refurbishment.

Re-opens at 5pm tonight - now called The Kings Head.

The Royal Oak Hotel, Skipton

More a hotel/restaurant than a pub. Very nicely decorated. Caters for families. Good selection of beers.

Woolly Sheep Inn, Skipton

Good selection of real ales. As close as you can get to a Bigg market pub in terms of women dressed up on a saturday night.

Kings Head, Mayfair

Eastern European lass is actually growing on me. Always got a smile and looks after the regulars.

Upstairs bar is best place to eat.

Very cheap for Mayfair

The Tully Motel, Tully

Good selection of beers. Good food. Cheap accomodation. Nice place to meet Donk and other locals. Not a huge fan of Bundy and coke.

The Duke of Wellington, Twyford

Good place to watch sport. Friendly clientele.

The Guinea, Mayfair

One of the most expensive pubs in london. 3.20 for either carling or Stella. One of the best spots for an outdoor pub in the summer. Quiet back street.

Very slow staff.

Full of hedge fund traders.

Back Door / Burlington Arms, Mayfair

Completely over priced. Only noteable benefit is watching the action in the police station over the road.Try Millugans just down the road.

The St George and Dragon, Wargrave

Food is good. Stone baked pizzas. Serves Timothy Taylors Landlord a complete rarity in rural Berkshire. Shame the barman cannot pull a decent pint.

The Bottle and Glass, Binfield Heath

One of the nicest pubs in the Reading area. Excellent pub grub. Used to sell Brakespears Old. Thatched pub and nice beer garden.

The Old Hall Inn, Threshfield

One of my favourite pubs. Very good pub grub. Excellent beers. Always a struggle to decide between a pint of Timothy Taylors, Black Sheep or Theakstons

The Plough Inn, Wigglesworth

Great food and good beer.

28 Feb 2006 13:42

The Angel Inn, Hetton

Possibly the most expensive pint of bitter outside Mayfair. Not a bad pint. Technically a pub in that it sells beer - in so much as The Ivy is a pub...

28 Feb 2006 13:36

The Reef, Paddington

sells alcohol - about as far as you can go.
