The Bootlegger, High Wycombe

Great place! I've always seen it from the station, but only visited for the first time two weeks ago and am an idiot for missing out so long!

An amazing selection of bottled beers and ciders (about 270 and 30 I think), plus a good selection on draught, including Rebellion. It will take you an age to choose though! Please do visit and support this pub, it's great, and if it were in Richmond or Chiswick or somewhere equally trendy you wouldn't be able to get in the door.

It doesn't serve food, but does allow bring your own (2.50 charge per head for plates/cutlery).

The Dog and Partridge, Sowood

Cracking little place! Good ale, and a big bowl of pork pie slices shared around. It has the feel of being the owner's living room, particularly as it's customary to help yourself when he's on the piano!

The Duke of Wellington, Pitstone

My lunch today was probably the worst meal I've ever eaten. The roast beef appeared to be of the 'sliced meat in a bag frozen with gravy to be nuked in the microwave' variety, rather than the delicious roast that we expected based on the lovely country pub interior. The vegetarian in our party (who couldn't eat due to the absence of any vegetarian option on the menu) had a lucky escape. Beer was mediocre.
