The Central Hotel, Gateshead

Not a bad bar at all. Good place to start before heading over to the Bridge Hotel then down to the quayside. Head of Steam have spent a fair bit of wedge doing it up. Seems to have a friendly atmosphere and decent beer. Enjoyed the times I have visited it.

The Trent House, Newcastle

Used to love this place but has really went down hill. The toasties used to be class but were poor last few times I have been in and the barman who served me the last time couldnt of cracked a smile if his life depended on it. A really pity cos it used to a cracking little bar.

30 Sep 2008 13:35

Sam Jacks, Newcastle

Charver central. Should be renamed Mushroom Bar at the Gate. Awful in every way from the punters to the over-priced p*sswater beer. Only purpose it serves is that it and the Gate keeps the idiots, charvers and tomorrows prisoners away from the decent bars. Avoid at all costs!
