The Roundhouse, Battersea

I've been frequenting this pub for a long while now and 99% of the time, it's been great...apart from when it's rammed to the rafters, i.e. most Thursday/Friday nights.

Great staff, great food (we had an Xmas lunch for 20 people a couple of years ago) and just down the road from my parents, so I can drown my sorrows after a visit to the olds.

The Selkirk, Tooting

Have to agree with jimmythefish -the roasts aren't the best in London (South or North), but they are reasonably good...and the place is light years better than The Frog used to be.

The staff are genuinely friendly though, and the cocktails are suprisingly good!

The Clarence, Balham

When The Clarence opened, myself and my friends were worried that it would turn into another 'Exhibit' or, worse still, slide even further into the depths of it's predecessors on the same site.

Luckily, we've been proved totally wrong -the food on our half-a-dozen visits (over the last few weeks) had been excellent, and the lack of 'standard' premium lagers is a blessing in itself. Having a bar stocked with the relative oddities that it has forces you to be a bit more adventurous than, "Just another pint of Stella."

The staff have been really friendly -and we've even managed to book a table for 20 on the Saturday before Xmas, without any restrictions on menu choices. Bravo!

(And the eponymous Clarence is a darling!)
