The Broadway Cafe Bar, Nottingham

its got its licence back, its getting a refurb in october with more power points for laptops and cameras and stuff, better tables and more gallery space, there's going to be another proper bar upstairs and more seating around the building so you can sit in corners and work on scripts and stuff, hopefully a better media support network will build up around here - this should be something like the bar at the NFT considering the amount of film, animation and production done in Notttingham it ought ot work quite well

The Old Angel Inn, Nottingham

Much better than it used to be and now thankfully cleared of student scum

The Broadway Cafe Bar, Nottingham

one of the nice things that seems to be happening as a result of the police action is the bar staff are discouraging the gangs of teenagers who congregate here and spend four hours drinking a pot of tea for 12!

The cafe area is being refurbished in the early autumn and will re open as a no smoking venue thank god!

The Hole in the Wall, San Francisco

aka The Nasty Little Biker Bar

A wonderful San Francisco institution, the ideal bar for bikers, Hells Angels, nude dentists, tramps, tattooists, elderly English gentlemen in cravats and slippers, wax sculpture enthusiasts, and people who love rock music interupted by Ethel Merman and spanish versions of Hansel and Gretel.

Pool table at the front with real authentic american pool hustlers and drifters, old fashioned pinball machines and layers and layers of posters on the wall. Whilst ladies aren't exactly discouraged they'd better be able to piss in the trough with the rest of the guys. You're not supposed to actually have sex here but it definately gets you in the mood for a greasy piece of biker ass.

I love this place, the staff are friendly and the beer gets served in in an old jam jar, and if you order spirits they just pour them till they get bored.

If you're ever in town on a foggy rainy night its the ideal place to go for company and booze and a long conversation with an aging biker who remebers the real times.

Its supposed to shut at 2 am but they sometimes sort of forget

Who's Your Daddy, San Francisco

nice bar with cute barstaff,

The Kings Arms, Soho

warmy furry pub with a decent Kareoke on packed Sunday Evenings and no thats not a tautology

This pub was a lot nicer when the previous owners were there, the atmosphere was friendlier and older bears were made to feel a lot more welcome, its got camper and queenier and the staff would be happier working in Comptons

The Intrepid Fox, Soho

I like this pub and I go in there as often as possible

A word of advice

Please DON'T pester the bikers, we're all used to the usual "what sort of bike have you got Mate/how have you been growin your hair/beard for/so...um.. er.. are you a Hells Angel?"

For God's sake guys the Fox is where we go to relax, its comfy, the wall have so many posters of bands we've actually seen, and the engine crucifix in the corner makes it seem like home, leve us alone growling quietly at the bar and don't pester us with questions - unless you're buying us a pint!

Ye Olde Trip to Jerusalem, Nottingham

this is a nice pub frequently ruined by large groups of excessively boring people tewlling each other stories of the history of the pub and and shouting at each other playing the ring on the horn game

The rest of the time its a wonderful place to curl up in a corner for a few pints with a load of sweaty bikers

The barstaff used to stop tourists bringing in children to show them the caves, this was a very good policy and should be reinstated immediatly

The Rising Sun, Reading

decent pub, too many kids as usual, but a nice range of sweaty greasy bikers over 50 to make you feel comfy, not a bad jukebox and good atmosphere.

On my first visit I went up to the guy behind the bar and asked for a Guiness

"sorry Mate I don't work here, do you fancy coming to my stag night"

Thats what I call a good pub
