Due to it mainly serving patrons of the cinema, it's generally very crowded. Fairly good selection of beer considering, and they do their own 'Broadway Reel Ale' which is very nice and reasonably priced. Decor is a bit staid. There's often arty films playing on a screen which is nice.

Can be a bit hectic & busy at times, food v. popular despite not being that great, but great selection of booze & great staff, it's rising popularity has made it the hub of hockley, thriving while quite a few other places go down the pan. Always been a fan of the cinema & glad to see it going from strength to strength.

Nice atmosphere although staff tend to be slow to clear up tables. Lots of laptop users hog tables and sip fizzy water too.

Always liked this place; friendly staff, decent range of beers; not entirely convinced about the refurb. Lots of long refrectory tables; everyone sqaushed in together. Upsatirs bar is a bit soulless and if you want a draft beer, you have to buy it downstairs and take it up. On the bright side, they've just introduced a curry night; 9 for a curry plus pint of beer or glass of wine; well worth it, but come early as it gets very hectic.

Bar now re-opened - refurb is OKish but seems like they tried to do it on the cheap - don't like the "canteen" style seating now in the main bar either
