The Woolpack, Elstead

what on earth is going on absolutely shocking service and food. you really have to be bad if you cant cook fish and chips, mine was almost hollow it was that overcooked and it took ages to get another sorted out, maybe they sent some one fishing who knows. all i can say is stay away

The Squirrel at Hurtmore, Hurtmore

Right as i promised i have revisited the squirrel to have a taste of the menu.

I had a fish soup which if i closed my eyes i could have thought that i was at a seaside restaurant in france, amazing quality. I follwed with a seard venison which was cooked to prefection and the chocolate sauce was to die for being heathen scum i had chips with it instead of veg which was 1.95 for a sizeable portion.

well pudding im a sucker for chocolate and the home made choc tort was perfection and the ice cream was very special.

staff were a bit relaxed but very helpfull and charming, i managed to chat to the owner Nigel, quite a quirky character, but in a good way i guess the decor reflects his presonality. very homley pub and made very welcome. will recomend to all my friends.

The Cyder House Inn, Shackleford

found the cyder house in my travells and first impressions were great. beautifull building and surroundings but the interior left me cold, like its trying to be some sort of london wine bar in the middle of the counryside very weired.

The food was nothing to write home about & the christmass menu was a very expensive joke 30 per person and an extra 4 if you want a cheeseboard. glad to say though that the beer lines do get cleaned how do i know this you may say, quite simply really you could taste beerline cleaner in the beer just what you need after a hard days work.
