The Bear, Esher

Oh dear Sunday luch for 6 of us and it cost just short of 200 now it was nice but not that nice.....when will the catering guys get the right balance? Esher is a very rich area but the place was half empty. When i spoke to the staff they said the catering bosses set the prices and change the menus as often as a bus changes destination!! I fear for when the beer comes from bedford as ell it can only mean more price rises.

The Alma Tavern, Wandsworth Town

what can I say yet another corporate makeover and the menu is now a complete disaster.

The Ship Inn, Wandsworth

Unfortunatly this pub is about to have a Youngs Suits makeover, with a new menu (choose from one of 50 meals all via 3663)and new decor. Shame Charlie was thown out.

Orange Tree, Richmond

Great pub and Roger the landlord and his wife Tracey know how to run the place well. Lets hope the Young's suits let them get on with it and dont try to spiritise it too much. Great food as well.........

Founders Arms, Bankside

Unfortuantly the new people at Youngs come from Spirit and think 1980's lounges are aceptable. As for when the Brewery closes well take your pick it's going to come from the same mix as 7 other brands..........anyone fancy setting up a new micro brewery??

The White Hart, Sherfield on Loddon

Great pub, great food and nice staff. In fact the blonde manageress has to be the fittest manager I have ever seen and really keeps the place going with here personality and obvious charms.

The Boathouse, Putney

Gret pub and great food except for the hour long wait for it!!!!!!!!!! bar staff said it's took so long becasue head office would not pay for a proper kitchen. At least its back to normal Young's beer here unlike the Founders Arms in Central London

Founders Arms, Bankside

This must rate as one of the worst pubs in England. We arrived on St Georges day it was quite and with ligh rain went to the bar to order some food and was told that we had to order drinks first!which we then did, but only after the bar staff argued over who's turn it was to serve when i asked to speak to the manager I was told that he would not come out as he was in a bad mood over somebody having bought their own food and sat outside at a table eating it. The beer was nothing special (Youngs is one of my favourites) as it was not as cold as normal and the food took forever to turn up. Having read the other commeents on this site why does the pubs owners allow this to go on when it must be one of the best sites in London
