The Union Rooms, Newcastle

One of the most unusual pubs I have bene in, as previously stated its an old building given the wetherspoons treatment. You will lose your bearing when you first visit, there are a number of little rooms in the place. Bar snacks were accetable, prices cheap. shows footy and gets very busy.

Mr Lynch, Jesmond

hidden away behind a 60s/70s concrete office block. has live music on, and pool tables (which needs levelling). gets a lot of students in.

Bridgewater Hotel, Worsley

This pub has changed a few times over the years, not for the better. Attracts a boisterous, very young crowd, some very drunk. You tend to get people taking their drink from this place to the Barton and vice versa. The toilets are a nightmare to get to when busy - service can be sluggish. Food was average. Shows football. Loud music/discos. On the day of the second visit - 25/08/05, someone had put some of the pubs front windows in.

The Cock Hotel, Worsley

Food is good, service good. Theres a lounge bar to the right which shows footy, and the main eating area is to the left. did not seem to have much atmosphere, but friendly enough. The pub have undergone a number of changes over the years, it was a Boddies pub at one time, but if you have not been for years you would not recognise it inside - I didn't.

The Hope, Salford

Not the place it once was. Attracts a young crowd, a lot from outside the area. Does not have a welcoming atmosphere. disco nights, drink promotions, you would not want to take the family.

The Henry Boddington, Pendlebury

Pub doubles up as a lodge type hotel. Can get busy. Not really much character.

Barton Arms, Stablefold

Excellent food, good choice, good service - the pub can get quite busy though. toilets situated at one end so you have to push your way through if you are at the wrong end. Can be difficult to park in the area.

Moorings, Boothstown

Great location and food. on the banks of the Bridgewater canal. Good service - place does get busy, caters for families.

The John Gilbert, Worsley

Good food and service. It does get very busy - and the one downside is the toilets are at one end of the place , not very accessable when the place is busy, and it is especially at weekends. Well worth a visit though. Easy to get to.
