The Sun Inn, Chobham

Used to have a good Indian restaurant in the back which has now disappeared - still have tables and a menu but OMG, what an absolutely terrible menu it is. We walked out tonight and went elsewhere. Burger and chips, scampi and chips, gammon and chips...

The Plough Inn, Horsell

Went with six children under 8 and six adults for Sunday lunch and we were very well looked after. Children loved their (simple but cheap) lunch with added touches like ketchup faces and lollipops for finished plates. Adult Sunday lunch was well prepared, traditional food and very enjoyable.
Staff were kind and attentive.
Beers also very enjoyable.
Best experience in this area for this kind of occassion.

The Plough, Coldharbour

How on earth did this place get in the Good Pub Guide? Food is overpriced and very slow (35 mins for main courses). Children are exiled to a dirty old barn. Cutlery is old and dirty.
The comments about tap water are true - the land lady was stunningly rude to my 7 year old son when he asked for a glass a water (at the end of a 60 meal). He's still talking about it 6 hours later!

The Jolly Farmer, Worplesdon

Went there this weekend. This is definitely one of the three good food pubs in the area (the others being The Fox and The Olive Tree). In fact, the Jolly Farmer is more of a restaurant than a pub, having just a bar counter now, everything else is restaurant seating.
Food is much better than described in other reviews - home made, good flavours and huge helpings. Specials included beef wellington (but 20), sea bass with risotto (15) and shank of lamb (17).
Service generally good though sometimes slow, but lots of friendly staff.
