Completey gutted and attractively refurbised but with the pub retaining a nice atmosphere and decor, opened just before Christmas there is now a large Brasserie dining area where the old tumble down buildings used to be. The bar staff were friendly and attentive, and the pub is extremely popular serving a good range of beers, Otter Amber Ale, Meantime London Pale and Fullers London Pride, the house red wine was also extremely good. Pretty good and still feels like a pub, albeit a modern up-market version

The Sun in Chobham has been a great little pub in the High Street for many years but now seems to suffer from lack of funds and in a poor state outside.
The car park is full of craters, the outbuildings falling down (for the last 3 years) and just propped up, the garden overgrown and which was once lovely.
Unfortunately they have recently put in a TV on the wonderful brick wall over the fireplace (dumb down, why do people do this?).
The management behind the bar are nice and friendly but seem temporary and have no great experience in running an English pub.
Beers are very good, customers can be cliquey but this is usual for Surrey, we are all guilty here!!
A nice village pub and I sincerely hope they sort out their financial problems and re-invest in the site - Still Recommended.

TRAD PUB BEAMS HORSESHOES BRASS PANS ECT I WENT THERE FOR A CHANGE LAST WEEK THESE TYPE PUBS CAN BE "CLICKY" WITH ALKIE REGULARS PROPPING UP THE BAR AND SURREY JAG DRIVERS EXTRAS FROM "HOWARDS WAY " IT HAS BEEN PRETTY DEAD OF LATE ....THERE WAS A JAZZ BAND ON BUT FINISHED AS SOON AS I GOT IN ...I KNOW I WAS LATE 10.30PM! ONE BAR STAFF WAS LET GO AFTER I HAD FINISHED MY FIRST PINT AND HAD TO DEAL WITH THE MISERABLE LANDLORD/MANAGER WHO SEEMED TO BE RUSHING AROUND CLEARING UP EARLY.. SO SAW MY CHANCE AND GOT UP TO THE BAR 10.50 HE SHOOK HIS HEAD NOT TONITE! NO EXPLANATION .......I DONT REALLY CARE IF 50 PUBS ARE CLOSING A WEEK WITH THESE RELICS FROM THE PAST STILL FESTERING ............... STILL BEST NOT TO BE TOO DOWN ABOUT IT THE BUILDINGS CAN ALL BE RESURRECTED INTO TAKE-AWAYS!

Traditional looking pub. Courage Best (3.10), Directors (3.20) and Adnams Lighthouse (3.20). Lighhouse was ok. Friendly enough, quiet early Sunday lunchtime.

Town centre pub on a busy main road, a bit tatty but quite nice. Friendly staff, cheap food. Several real ales on including one that is brewed exclusively for this pub: "In bourne and bread" ale. Brewed with treacle apparently somewhere in Dorset (Sixpenny brewery??). Strong flavour & very nice indeed.
