The Anchor, High Offley

The pub is NOT closed as is being shown on a particular app.

Please spread the word as trade is being badly affected and the pub needs the campers and walkers as well as the boaters to survive.

The Plough, Stalisfield

The Boat Inn, Lenton

Was in the area and had inquired about food but it was quite late and were told sorry but the kitchen is shut and were directed to another establishment.

Decided that the Boat looked so nice a real back street local that we had to try it later on. I am very pleased to say we did and got a very warm welcome.
If you could bottle the atmospere and sell it to other pubs you would be a happy person - it was just something you cannot quantify but really nice.
Background music you could hardly hear as well so another tick in the box.
Everwhere was clean. Beer n good condition
Will be back to try the food.
Scored the Boat at 8 as we did not eat

The Lamb Inn, Wartling

Met up with friends for a meal and a chat.
Skate was overcooked and tasteless. Quantity of whole dish was very small and worth about half the price paid. Would have made a very decent starter though size wise but not taste wise.

The Clothworkers Arms, Sutton Valence

Went into the Cloth Workers recently after an absence of many years. Newish landlord and landlady - what a difference to the experience of the previous poster, could not have been more friendly and welcoming. Beer was in really superb condition.
A first for me - lady serving behind the bar asked my name and then introduced herself.
Highly recommended if you are in the area.

The Admiral Nelson, Daventry

Went in on Friday and Saturday evenings very recently.
Have given the Nelson a score of 8 as we did not eat - it
deserves this. The beer, I had Doombar was superb as were the other two draft beers on offer.
I think It is now a freehouse and they are trying hard to make a go of a pub that has had a recent history of opening in the summer closing in the winter then new tenents for the summer and so on. Moorings close by and a big car park what more could you want.

Star, Stone

First time I have been in the Star for a great many years.
Glad to see the lack of change to what is a very nice pub.
My meal was everything I expected and the Marstons was superb.

The Bulls Head, Brinklow

Stayed the night and also had a meal and a pint or two.
Room was very clean and comfortable.
Lamb shank really nice and the beer was in superb condition.
Would go back again for any or all of the above.
The two behind the bar were very friendly and welcoming.

The White Horse, Sandway

Had A really good evening and hope the new landlady and landlord do well to make this a really good place to go too.
Timothy Taylor landlord was on tonight and was served in superb condition. Have not eaten in here yet but have in the previous pub where the landlord was head chef - if the food in the white horse is as good as where he used to be then it will be well worth a visit to eat as well as drink.

The Rowbarge, Woolhampton

Was in the Rowbarge and we had a great time.
I was on the Brindle which was just right in every respect, others with us were on different beers and all were in tip top condition.

Plenty of room to sit and enjoy the inside of the pub.

The food was very good and well served.

All in all a real pleasure to go in for the evening.
Staff brilliant with a really nice attitude and the young lady serving behind the bar greeted us with a huge smile as we walked up to order our drinks.

The Cunning Man, Reading

Been in a few times over the last few months.
The beer is usually returned as undrinkable and changed for the next on the list it often takes 3 goes to get a just about drinkable / passable pint. The manageress may well be be sadly lacking in all respects with regard to how to serve a drinkable pint. Also if she could to smile and employ staff that had some semblance of an idea about how to keep customers happy this may well be a step in the right direction.
Food is ok but nothing to write home about.
I used this pub with the previous manageress and not only was the beer well kept she did know how to treat customers in a way to encourage them to return.

Very friendly staff and a very enjoyable evening.

The Pretty Pigs, Alvecote

A group of us went into the pub and we had a superb Sat evening. The carvery was tremendous value for money, well cooked and a good choice of meats, the vegetables also left nothing to be desired again well cooked and a large choice.
The beer was well kept and again nothing to complain about.
Really pleasant pub with good staff and atmosphere.

The Cape of Good Hope, Warwick

Superb evening in early October, moored right outside with a loaded pair. Had a few pints of the two locks also bought some of the cheese they sell. If you like strong Chedder this is the place to get it. Really good atmosphere and a real gem to look out for. Cannot comment on the food as we did not eat.

The Three Horseshoes, Benson

Walked into Benson from the Thames mooring went to the other pub first, one pint later went to the horseshoes ( should have gone there in the first place ). Great evening. good beer, super local atmosphere and really nice couple of ladies behind the bar.
Cannot comment on the food as we did not sample it.

The Pilot Inn, North Greenwich

Very pleasant location, beer and service very good and the food was also very well prepared and served. Nice to be approached when leaving by the person who took the table booking, who then asked us if everything was ok. All in all a very good pub to eat and drink in.

The Pepper Box Inn, Ulcombe

This is my local - its superb the beers good as is the food.
It has lovely views, plenty of parking. Go later in the evening and all the people for the food side have vacated the bar and its quiet and peace full. Super open fire in the colder weather, good parking.
