First off extremely poor choice for vegetarian's 1 option only on main courses, on the day we visited the vegi option was something i didn't like so i had to for one of the starter's - soup - whilst my friends tucked into big meals!! Then disappointingly the soup was over seasoned and tasted only of pepper, i did mention this when waitress asked why i hadn't eaten it only to be told that the chef had not added any pepper and was i sure i hadn't added it myself!!!??! Very poor service would not recommend at all

A great pub with a really good varied menu, particularly good that they offer a vegi option on the sunday roast.

A really lovely pub with great food. A fab place to spend a sunny sunday afternoon since the outside seatring area is especially pleasant!

a great atmosphere especially first friday of the month for funkdub. but the bar itself is awful - toilets are always flooded, beer is not good, staff rude, they often run out of drinks and you will usually get your drink in a dirty glass!! my advice go for the tunes and the atmosphere which are great and stick to bottles!

possibly the worst meal i have ever had the misfortune to have was in this pub. We went for the 2 for �10 offer so weren't expecting amazing food but what we received was absolutely dire, 2 bland and uninteresting cheese burgers which arrived without the bacon we had requested, a watery chilli and mushroom stroganoff that could not even be described as food - i managed 1 mouthful of this greasy, gritty dirge and could eat no more - appalling!! I don't how food could be made so bad?

A great pub, brilliant for a night out with good live music from bands and dj's. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The food is fantastic and there's loads of choice - one of my favourite places to eat - anywhere!!

yes its quite often full of gangs of kids running riot but if you go later on its generally quieter and there is a great choice on the menu, huge portions and really good prices. good vegetarian choice with at least 4 or 5 options (better than average pub) and good that you can mix and match your side orders - can swap veg for salad chips for jacket potato etc.. don't be put off by the amount of kids there - the food is great and fab value

Food looked and smelled good upon arrival but we didn't stay due to poor choice for vegetarians. 2 choices only and both pretty uninspiring and expensive - would be good if they offered a vegi option on the roast dinner. I wouldn't go there only because I am vegi.

The New Helsby Arms, Helsby
excellent highly recommended the menu changes often and everything is freshly cooked. we went to the vegetarian taster evening and eveything was fantastic - can't wait to try all the full sized versions! Very friendly service too - think this place is going to become our local!
