Ruse, Borough

This is essentially the Merseyside Embassy, a Liverpool supporters pub with a load of Scousers working behind the bar, great if you're a Liverpool FC fan.

The pub itself is fine, has a bit of a hotel lobby feel but they've tarted it up recently, along with the menu. Had a great steak with peppercorn sauce for less than 8 last night.

Only had one ale on last night, think it was Doom Bar, they have Moretti on tap which was very good.

The The Old Monk Exchange, Westminster

4.30 for a pint of Perroni.

The Royal Oak, Bethnal Green

Quite busy for a Tuesday night but over 7 for two pints and the worst stench of piss from the toilets I have ever had the misfortune to experience.

Devonshire, Balham

Not the pub it once was, now full of Jeremy's and Samantha's (with little Jake in the pram), drinking Pimms and Magners. Have never tried the food but the menu has a salad that costs 20.

Unless you like living in a Pimms advert avoid this place. We now head to the Nightingale for a decent pint in a less contemptible environment.

The Princess Louise, Holborn

Found this place on the weekend, (I don't really know Holborn too well) and it is an absolute joy. I love Sam Smith pubs and this has to be one of the finest. An architectural delight and perfect beer to admire it with. Instantly one of my top 3 pubs in London.

The Cardinal, Victoria

One of the few good pubs around Victoria, bit of an old man's pub but great Sam Smith's beer. If you want an antidote to the Ha Ha bar then come here.

A solid 8-10.

The Colonies, Westminster

A shithole. Currently being tarted up. Will still be a shithole though.

The Slug and Lettuce, Richmond

Sounds like hell.

The Hawley Arms, Camden

Monkfish, you really should go back.

This is the greatest pub in the world, end of. If it were possible I'd drink here every night.

Rick's Bar, Greenwich

Only ever went in this place once in all my time in Greenwich, and that was only because a load of us were doing a pub crawl all the way into Greenwich, and it was shit. The one barman seemed amazed to have to deal with customers during daylight hours, there was no one else there, England v Scotlands (6 Nations) was on and it was absolutely empty.

A very very odd place.

The Jackdaw and Rook, Balham

Nice little place, full of young females who fancy themselves more than the male trendies who inhabit this place too. A good selection of beer and your typical food that's the same wherever you go now. A bit too bright for my liking, but I'm a fussy prick.

6/10.

The Regent, Balham

Not a bad place, good for the football, can get busy with Clapham rugby types though, and the beer tends to be on the North side of 3 a pint. As its about 8 seconds from my house, it still gets my custom. Food looks good but again expensive, but everywhere in Balham is like this now, except that Pikey Wetherspoons round the corner.

7/10.

The Kings Head, Tooting

This is my local and the best pub round these parts, mainly due to the absence of the pikeys that seem to be in every pub in the world these days. Either that or the same group of pikeys are following me around all the time, its hard to tell, they all look the same don't they?? This pub's clientele are a proper mix of the local population too which is refreshing, the bar staff are all trendies but some of the women are nice eye candy.

I watched the Champions League final here when Liverpool pasted AC Milan and it was one of the happiest moments of my life, and for that I will always love this place.

And the foods good, bit steep, but really nice. Pool table and big screen for those big games.

The Hawley Arms, Camden

This pub is the mutts nuts, the best in Camden by absolutely light years. The beer is great, and they do pints of chips and Wotsits in a bowl. The jukebox is effing incredible too.

And Alan behind the bar is a legend. I only hope that this posting doesnt encourage a load of Camden bellends to start drinking there, its perfect as it is.
