The Bunch of Carrots, Hampton Bishop

Shame about this pub. It should be good but it's just not. Had a 'bloomer' sandwich which was cut from the end not the middle so it was tiny!
it just feels like a not very well run chain pub. It needs a little soul.

The Wellington, Wellington

Sirloin steak sandwich in ciabatta roll with hand cut chips and red onion marmalade. Steak left with grizzle on it, and I hate having to take these inedible lumps out of my mouth. Marmalade inoffensive if tasteless and chips over cooked. How did they win awards? Is this the best Herefordshire has? Oh dear.

The Fox Inn, Great Barrington

Ploughman's - slab of cheddar, third of an apple, half a tomato, one pickled onion, one slice of white bread, quartered and a few lettuce leaves. 8.

Well what a rip. Yet it was full. Why? Very poor pub.

The Oak, Aston Clinton

If you can wait 2hours plus to receive your food, this is the place. We were told that we had to wait 2 hours as our food was cooked to order - a cheeseburger? Customers were walking out and the landlord was losing his rag. Oh dear, was once a reasonable pub.

The Old Queens Head, Penn

Ive had to wait at a bar before, but not when Im the only person there and the three female members of staff are chatting in front of me. Once would have been bad enough but twice? The attitude from the staff was of polite boredom, yes they did ask if we enjoyed our meals but you felt they didnt greatly care.

The food? Well its the same as the other pubs in this chain, The Swan, Royal Oak and the Alford Arms. The difference was that in this one it was cold. Cold plates, cold food, cold staff.

If you like the look of this pub (and I do) go and eat in one of the others, I have and they are very good. Dont eat here until youve heard that they have replaced the staff.

Ewe and Lamb, Stoke Prior

Expensive but we really enjoyed the food. The service was very quick. All in all very good. Would go back,

Ye Olde Salutation Inn, Weobley

Oh dear, oh dear. Wished I had read the reviews above. Sorry, but one of the worst meals we have eaten and the price, for leaving most of it on the plate, was staggering.
We were suckered in by the look of the place (which is lovely)

Don't the owners care....?

The Bay Horse, Hereford

As we were in Hereford, we followed the reviews for this pub and had dinner there.
Have to agree about the service very friendly and attentive without going over the top (which is often the case).
As for the food. Well it was OK, but considering the over the top reviews it's had I was a little disappointed and the other half thought it quite poor. Better than your average chain but hardly pushing towards the limits. To be fair, if I hadnt read the other reviews I might have been satisfied enough, but we expected more and these days we should get it.

The Plough, Wreay

An outstanding Cumbrian village pub.
Set in a beautiful village just outside Carlisle with a curious church and village green (well, I had to walk my lunch off). The food was excellent and very good value for money, the beer well kept. Modernised but still keeping a village pub feel. I remember this pub from a number of years ago when it seemed trapped in the 70s and doomed to extinction. This just shows what can be done to a pub, only wish other Inns were this good.
