Gordon Bennett, Tooting Broadway

Soooooo much better now the place has been done up (now called The Royal Oak). The actual place hasn't changed a great deal, with only new lick of paint and new seating happening, but it's made a great difference.

They seem to have sorted out the 'scum locals' issue now and it feels much more relaxed in there. They have a few screens in there for football, though the main screen is quite low and the high tables just in front of it means only about 4 people get a good view of it. You'll often see a few people viewing that screen and half the pub looking at 28" plasma.

Good friendly staff, the most improved pub in the Tooting strip.

A Bar 2 Far, Tooting Broadway

I think with the Tramshed and Gordon Bennett (now the Royal Oak I believe), updating themselves slightly the Bar to Far has reacted by doing up it's layout and furture -it seems to have made an improvement.

It's not a bad place and I have had fun in there, I think the large beer garden will be good for the summer and the fact it's air conditioned it good too.

They do show the football, there is only a limited area of the bar that can view the one screen.

The Tooting Tram & Social, Tooting

A pretty good place, great for the football (one MASSIVE screen and many smaller screens). The staff sometimes seem more interested in talking to their mates instead of serving people, which is a tad annoying.

The place has recently changed it's floor plan, this has resulted in quite a large non smoking area, raised slightly from the ground level.

A younger crowd in general, but Im expecting to be a fun venue for the world cup.

The Ramble Inn, Tooting

A good, friendly place. You'll never leave. This is mainly due to the table service :-)

Really friendly staff and good atmosphere, not really somewhere you'd take a date, more of a boys pub talking about boys things. We went as a group once that included one girl; they were the only girl in the whole establishment.

The Railway Bell, Tooting

A pub in SERIOUS need of a bit of love and affection. Went to watch the football there once, decided to miss the second half instead of staying.

Another place that could be good if someone cared about it enough.

I think this place getting no reviews for nearly 3 years shows people aren't rating this place at all, which is a shame as being near the Tooting train station could be a good place for a cheeky one on the way home.

The Mitre Hotel, Tooting

A place near my house, but somewhere I was never been brave enough to go into. It looks shocking; the actual building is quite impressive and grand. However the periodically arrival of pikies standing around and oil drum fire selling Christmas tree's can't be a good impression.

Could be good, currently it clearly isn't.

The Kings Head, Tooting

no longer a place to watch sport (which is a shame as the back room was perfect for it). The place is pretty big and the food is ok. A good place to go if there are a few of you after a weekend day relaxing over a few drinks.

certainly worth a try.

JJ Moons, Tooting

I've been to this pub on many occasions. It's nothing special, but what would you expect from a small 'Spoons pub? The staff are friendly and good to the task of severing ever more drunk punters.

There is quite a strange atmosphere in there sometimes as the beer seems to take over people's minds, but for a cheep deep down and dirty night it's an experience to say the least.

Kensington Arms, Kensington

Good beer and nice food menu, friendly staff and generally its quite hard to fault the place. The only thing that shocked me is the fact that it looks like a normal everyday pub from the outside and very modern and bright (very bright) inside. I can't see people spending all evening in there as it doesn't have that comfy feel some pubs do, but for drinking, eating and watching the football on good modern screens it ticks every box.

The Ham Brewery Tap, Ham

I literally cannot wait for this place to re-open, just out of sheer curiousity to see if they can make what was the Ham equivalent of the bar in Starwars into somewhere you can actually have a drink without feeling you might be sucked into a weird parallel universe of alcoholic freakery at any time.

The Ram, Kingston Upon Thames

Kingston isn't a very nice place to be on a wet Sunday but this pub really cheered us up. It isn't much special inside. but is cosy and nicely lit. Can't speak for the real ale but the food was nice and the staff were really friendly and actually seemed to be enjoying working there. They also had ecclectic music tastes which put an upbeat spin on the exeprience.
