The George Hotel, Tideswell

This ought to be a great pub. The location is great as is the building but it has had a series of poor managers and has suffered greatly for it. The landlady (?) found it hard work to get up from her stool to serve us and looked as if she would rather be somewhere else. On our last 2 visits food was not available nor were there any crisps to keep us going! Sad to see a once great pub lose its way.

The Legh Arms, Adlington

Really lovely spot - enjoyed a great seafood sharing platter and a selection of other starters - all food was really fresh & prepared to a high standard. Staff were friendly, wine was good and atmosphere pleasant. Only complaint was that it was raining and we couldn't sit in the lovely outside area

The Monsal Head Hotel, Monsal Head

The Stables bar has always been a lovely spot but the new owners have increased prices to ridiculous levels to discourage drinking trade. (Average pint is 50p more than average for an already pricey area).
More fool them when winter hits and there are no locals to fill up the bar!

The Red Lion Inn, Litton

What a fantastic little pub - great beer, eccentric locals & the best steak & kidney pie I've ever had! We're a difficult bunch to please - 1 real ale freak, 1 vegetarian & a coeliac, and we all came away happy - top notch!
