The, Gants Hill

As stated below the 'Bar' owner Darren is very friendly and aims to please. There are 3 real ale pumps with at least 2 on, always in top condition and from good local brewaries eg Mighty oak, Brentwood. It also caters well for my lager supping friends who complimented the correct glasses being used and the ideal temperature of the drink. Top marks for effort!

O'Gradys Bar, Ilford

No review for nearly 3 years. Can't quite believe that nobody has said how great this place is! If you love your sports then this is the pub for you. I watched the Cheltenham Festival there and the atmosphere in the pub was second only to being at the race coarse itself. Giant plasma screens, very Reasonably priced drinks and great food. Seems to be loads going on at other times as well. The owner seems friendly and I may get to know him a little better as I will be back on a regular basis. Top marks!

Ye Three Lords, Aldgate

Partizan athmosphere in the pub towards the end of the week. One of my work colleagues has a big crush on the barmaid Samantha and used to pop in every day just to see her!! P.s the bar bar staff dress up in fruity santa fancy dress around Christmas time for the punters. Great fun!

Bootys, Limehouse

I will not head back to this pub again. After walking in and asking for a pint of London Pride and being charged the money, I handed over the money. Whilst the lady was opening the till I asked if the pub was still serving food to which she said 'yes' and that I should sit down and she would bring my drink over (although it was poured and within reaching distance on the bar). She handed my five pound note back and said she would hand me a bill at the end. A bit puzzled that I couldnt take my drink I sat all of three yards from the bar. She walked the three yards with my drink. after eating an very average meal I asked for the bill and wasnt best pleased when I saw the 10% service charge. Looking back the lady seemed very keen to put my pint on the tab hence costing me an extra 40p!! Never again

The Old Thameside Inn, London Bridge

The Nicholson chain on the whole is pretty good however this is one to give a miss. Real ale quality poor. Tourists galore and two customers/mongs who managed to eclipse the rudeness of the bar staff by loudly describing their (lack of) love life and shouting out qoutes from films such as 'release the Kraken'.

Folly Inn, Whippingham

What a fantastic pub. I have visited IOW twice for the music festivals. However I have spent more time in this place than the festival itself! The folly inn has reached a cult status as some stars have been known to pop in before they perform. Keith 'cheggers' chegwin was in the house when I was there. Wa hey!

The North Star, Leytonstone

For a small pub such a fantastic range of real ales (at least 4). always in excellent condition. One of few top quality pubs in a 5 miles radius.
