Came in here on a friday night with a mate and walked into a hostile pub where loads of drunk builders and other males gave us intimidating looks!!! Was surprised that we had to pay �3.20 for a stella which is far too expensive for a pub in croydon!!! It also didnt help that a bloke sitting next to us with his guinness was popping pills.
Not worth a visit in my opinion.

Came in here one hour before kickoff (14:00) for the Palace game against QPR and waited 10-15 minutes to be served whilst standing at the middle of the bar!!! Not surprising as it was full of Palace fans. Pub is small but the beer garden is nice. Had 2 pints of xxxx and they were awesome!

Hadn't been in here for a few months due to college and work. However met up with an old mate and decided to enter the legendary ship of croydon for a nice pint and a meal. However we were much mistaken in thinking that we would have a good night. My friend asked for a curry and was replied wth "we are not a wetherspoons!!!". We were eventually sold two curries and they were brought down in six minutes. SO MUCH FOR THE FRESH FOOD!!! Most of the oldclientelle seem to have moved on and I don't know whether this is due to the smoking ban. Very dissapointed with pub. Seems to have gone downhill in a short space of time. Horrible staff, horrible food, horrible boozer. Go to the green dragon or the goose opposite!!!

Came in here on a thursday night with an old mate. Nice sized pub and beer was ok. Liked the atmosphere which is nice a friendly. However it was quiet for a thursday night. Drinks are slightly more expensive at �2.75 for a carling. Nice place to come for a quiet pint with a mate or the misses but not for a night out.

Came in hear on a sunday night and was surprised to see a pub with a good atmosphere. The mood is relaxed and has an authentic feel which many local pubs n shirley and west wickham don't have. The drinks are well priced and ther is a good selecton of bitter and lager. The only downer is that the bar staff don't use hardly any vodka in their cocktails. However I enjoyed my time and will be returning!!! You wouldn't know this pub is part of a restuarant!!! Good clientelle, good staff and good beer so what more could you ask for!!!

The Railway Tavern, Prittlewell
Crap pub. Went in here on a Palace match (away). As Palace fans my friend and I just wanted a pint with no trouble. We entered the pub and the whole pub stood still to look at us. As I was wearng my palace scarf, many "old geezers" started talking in an ikntiimidating way. The beer was no better and was vastly over priced. My mate and i QUICKLY downed our pints and left for the golden lion!!! Which is a great pub for away fans!!! EAGLES EAGLES!!!

Went in here on a friday night and was shocked to see it so quiet. There were only a handful of people milling around. (I don't know whether this is because of the smking ban. Anyway the beer was flat and the place had no real atmosphere that many people seem to say it has. Dissapointed with pub.

Great Pub. Always wanted to come into this pub and I wasn't let down. it is a nice open pub with a local atmosphere. Bar staff are really friendly and fellow drinkers are too. Nice pool tables which are well kept and not bad at 2 games for �2.00. Drinks are average price for Croydon. Had a good drink in here after a busy day at college and I will be returning. Great PUB!!!

Nice little boozer in Croydon and one of the only pubs witha beer garden. Can't beat a cold pint of magners siting in the sun. Sometimes the que can be very long. Wasn't tooimpressed witht he inside of the pub. Good atmospere when England are playing football.

Good bar a few months ago but i think it may have become a bit over crowded. Haven't been in since so that may not be the case. Shame that they don't sell anynmore snake bites as they were a different class back in the day.

Nice for a stop to eat and a drink on a walk on a Sunday afternoon. Always busy and is very hard to get seated. But this gives the place a bit of atmosphere which other large pubs don't have. However wouldn't come here for a night out. Only a quick pint.

Great Pub. Very nice selection of food which is top notch and very tasty. Always busy and is definately a place to visit on a sunny afternoon. Massive beer garden. I had a very nice pint of London Pride and I enjoyed it very much. This is very unusual as I don't usually drink bitter. Very nice pub and definately worth a visit.

Very busy on Saturday's. Haven't been for a while and i hope that the under aged drinkers have been kicked out as this spoils the atmosphere of what can be a great pub.

Went to this pub on a football match and it was heaving with away fans. Beer was surprisingly ok and not too pricy. Avoid on match days if not an away fan.

The Railway Hotel, West Wickham
Nice pub with friendly bar staff. Had one of my first pints in this place and it was an enjoyable afternoon. Often very busy which gives the place a nice atmosphere. Drinks are reasonably priced.

Great pub with friendly bar staff and locals. The pub has a homely feel about it with the big fire on in the winter. Also has a plasma tv which is nice when the footballs on. I think it is one of the oldest pubs in Croydon and is definately worth a visit. Drinks are a bit pricy though.

This pub is always busy. Probably for the cheap drinks. The bar staff can be very rude and it is a typical chain pub. However it does get a bit of atmosphere on a friday night and the food is not bad at all. It seems to me as "the first drink" pub on a night out. Note you will need ID in this place if you look under 30!!!!

Had an experience in this pub. Only been here once and will probably not return. There was no draught lager available by the tap so the bottled beer became an option. Good pool table though. The place was empty considering it was a thursday evening at about 6:30pm.

Great pub. Always come in on a thursday after a hard day at college and always have a good laugh. There are a wide range of beers to choose from in draught or bitter and they are not too pricy. It has a wide selecytion of locals which gives the place a nice friendly atmosphere. The food is great and is very reasonable too. Worth a visit.

This pub could do so much better. It is of a nice size inside and has two pool tables. The beer is not too pricy. Only bad thing is that it is always full of about 10 locals who are very loud after a few drinks. Could do alot better but worth a visit.

What lets this pub down is the yobs from shirley who drink in it!!!
The pub is a nice size and serves nice food and has a large beer garden. Beer is well kept and are of an average price.
As i said earlier it is let down by loads of thugs and yobs who get agressive when drinking!!!
