The Exchange Inn, Hove

Very good. They don't do anything that anywhere else doesn't do, but they do it well without it being poncey. A difficult balance to strike, but one they have achieved nonetheless.

The White Knight, Pound Hill

Spit and sawdust. Entertainment is the likes of Bernard Manning and Jim Davidson. Draw your own conclusions. Never been the same since Bowlingo disappeared.

The Ancient Mariner, Hove

Good pub, good food, good service and the locals all seem friendly. I had a spicy chicken salad there sometime ago which was delicious, the only criticism at our table was that the portions were too big (eh?!?). Very nice, I could take my mother and kids there for a civilised evening just as easily as a more relaxed evening with a few mates and a load of booze.

Alibi, Hove

Good pub, very welcoming. The food, which was great, has taken an unexpected turn for the worse though. Quality of food and value for money are worsening. They play some good music though and have a big screen upstairs which is sometimes rolled out for the football. Sort your food out and you'll be ticking all the boxes (apart from having a pool table!!).

Snafu 23, Hove

Dreadful place. Locally known as 'Sniffu', draw your own conclusions as to why.
