Fabulous underground wine bar with a nice gentle atmosphere that hasn't changed in years. As far as I know they don't do beer but don't let that put you off as they have an eclectic and informative wine list and decent grub.
When you just need to escape the hurly burly this is the place to go.

Doesn't look too promising from the outside, but pleasant enough once you're in. Best feature is that they appear to show every Sky football match (inc. Football League) and have several screens. Only tried the Guinness which was reasonable.

Everything a pub should be. Decent beer, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Not the biggest of pubs but there always seems to be somewhere to sit. The kind of place you can happily while away a wet January afternoon

The Sportsman, Croxley Green
Such a shame they got rid of the old pub sign with the footballer in yellow and red. This is the land of Watford FC you know!
