Not as good decor-wise as The Vine nearby but the beer is far better.

The London Pride is not very good in here, in fact it was the worst I've had for ages. They don't need beer like this if they can't look after it.

This is ok. I visited it early on a Saturday evening and was there for about an hour and a quarter. They served the the best London Pride I've had in a while, although I did have to ask for a top-up on one pint as it was a bit short.

Unusually for Wetherspoons this one did not have the familiar not available signs up for the guest beers. I chose one, but was told it was not available! I asked for another and was told it was also not available. Fortunately my third choice WAS available, because I would not have asked for the fourth as it was from the Wickwar brewery whose muddy water I do not drink but that is another story. The bar staff dont bother cleaning the tables and glasses and empty crisp bags are still there long after the people have gone. I agree with the previous comment about sticky tables. As usual I was only here with friends and would not have chosen a Wetherspoons had it been my own choice.

The White House, Stockley Park
A typical Wetherspoons. Not busy on this occasion but it still took ages to get served due to the snails pace bar staff. The one and only guest beer was not available. Nothing unusual there. The pumps were designed for ale to be served top-fill but some uneducated fool had decided to add a long plastic tube with a sparkler attached to fill the glass from thre bottom and create extra foam therefore spoiling the taste of the Fullers London Pride I had. Unfortunately a lot of Wetherspoons pubs are going for the foamy beer style now and I only visited this one because I was with others. When it's my own choice I stay well away from them. YES to free houses but not the Wetherspoons ones.

The New Cross Turnpike, Welling
Nice, tidy pub but typical of JDW these days they spoilt the way the beer was served. The taps were designed to serve top-fill into the glass, but what do they do? They attach a pipe to the beer outlet with a sparkler screwed to the bottom, so the beer is served bottom-fill similar a swan neck and it comes up all foamy.

I'm not too sure about the Cask Marque accreditation here. The ales are all served via swan neck and sparkler so if you want a proper beer, ask them to take the sparkler off. I did and had some Badgers Tanglefoot which was ok, but the tall skinny guy with the ponytail who took the sparkler off to serve my first pint then served me again later on needs some manners. He tells you the price, no "please" or anything, then drops the change in your hand without looking at you, with no "thank you" afterwards either.

Good beer and better value than the other Fuller's pub along the road, the Euston Flyer.

A good, traditional pub with decent Fuller's ales and as an ale drinker I would rate this as the best pub in the area.

No ale, only Greene King IPA on nitrokeg. But it's got the usual lagers you see everywhere now: Stella, Foster's and Carling. You can wait for ages to be served because there are not enough bar staff to cope with the demand. And when the person a few feet away decides to hold everything up by paying with a card, move as near to that person as you can. I failed to do so after waiting a long time and the space was quickly filled by someone else who got served immediately after the card transaction was completed. It was time to leave.

A good choice of ale but it would taste better if they stopped bottom-filling the pints via a swan neck spout. Fuller's London Pride should be pulled into the top of the glass, not the bottom. The bar staff are quick to notice you, I must compliment them on that, but they give you your pint as soon as the glass is full and on three occasions I let the beer settle, then had to ask for a top up to fill the half inch of air space between the beer and the rim of the glass. Don't be tricked into paying for air!

More crowded on match days now Arsenal are playing at the new stadium. This has all the faults a real ale pub can possibly have. Poor quality beer, poor choice, and it takes ages to get served. I had a bad guest beer pint of stout from the Czech Republic recently. I finished it and left. The last time I went there the only ale on offer was Courage, which I dont drink because I dont like it so I had to have Fosters. They were obviously concentrating on selling lager. Good last season, but thats all in the past.

The Mad Hatter Hotel, Southwark
A good range of Fuller's beers and the London Pride was excellent.
