Another pub discarded by Fuller's. I believe this had re-opened since the last review. The Prince of Wales signage still remains. But signage for a Mediterranean restaurant have now been added. Notices in the windows state that it is closed for refurbishment.

Nothing like a landlord leaving a review, eh?

This place has not been the same since the early 90's. Then a pleasant decent place fulfilling the wishes of local GROWN UP people.

It is now a kids/teens palace, having driven any one decent left away.

Don't kid yourself Craig. You won't be around long enough to have ever been remembered being there.

RIP The POW. Once nice, now a ce**pit.

Incidentally, beer in the Red Lion could be 20x more expensive BUT it IS always better kept.

Review based on our visit Friday, 8th August 2014 and the preceding Tuesday lunchtime.

This pub has suffered a lot over the last few yeas with neglect, both from Fullers (for letting them have the tenancies) and the Tenants themselves. However, that changed in October 2013 with the temporary lisencee. The pub has been transformed with new carpet in the Saloon Bar and a wooden floor in the Public Bar. Entertainment is provided daily by the Bar Staff, including Kerry during the day, and Craig or Sean (the licenee's), or their varied selection of bar staff in the evenings, but the do a mean Karaoke every other Friday and live singers/bands at least once a month.

Food offerings are available every day (except Sunday's) and the food is simple but excellent value for money (I recommend the Steak and Ale homemade pie -to die for). Drinks are MUCH cheaper than the nearby Fuller's Hotel The Red Lion, but the beer is clean, crisp and better than many a local competitor.

This is a friendly Local with a great warm welcome extended to visitors anytime. Children are welcome until 6pm, making this truly an adult venue. Close to Uxbridge town centre for the younger crowd.

We'll worth a visit at any time of the year!!!!
