The Wenlock Arms, Hoxton

Was my kinda place. I'm not a local regular, but I've never had anything but acceptance and a friendly response from those who are- all this talk of trouble and stuff doesn't strike me as true. I'll tell you what, though- I go to the Thursday night quiz occasionally, and it's always been a laugh- but recently (and I've seen this elsewhere) I've seen people cheating on their phones to answer the question.. doesn't that defeat the object? I just want to come down for a couple of drinks and to do the quiz without it being some kind of phone advert. Terrible. But the ale? Delicious.

The Cock and Woolpack, City Of London

Sweet if you've just finished work and need a beer. The food at lunchtime is great, service at lunchtime great, in the evening decent enough but can take a while to get served. But hey- where's that not the case now??

The Boogaloo, Highgate

Well people go on about how tough the music quiz here is- and the press think its the best in London- but I wasn't so impressed- OK the listening rounds are hard, but the rest is easy- as long as you've got google on your phone. I'm sick and tired of iphone tossers ruining the hard brainwork of fair players. I saw one with the cheek to do it right there under the table! Nice pub in general, though- good garden for a cigarette, good beer, and the Rioja aint bad either. Just sort out these loser cheats!

The Charles Dickens, Southwark

This pub is great- and I've always had a great time on the Wednesday Night quiz- but last time I was in, I saw a team looking up the answers on an iphone- what is the point!? I ask you. It's not about the winning, sure, but it's not on- that's what I think, anyway. Is there any way we can stop this kind of cheating? Great pub, as I say, but if there's clientele with that kind of team spirit, I'm voting low.

The Holly Bush, Hampstead

Good pub- lively but not too lively, old but not too old. Beers expensive but where isn't????? Don't know about this staff thing, I had nothing but a fine time and lovely beer- thanks!!
